You must be wonder why my office server will sound like aeroplane engine?

The server room is very small, the size is about 3m X 3m. There are 3 IBM servers, 2 PC, 1 Nokia firewall, 1UPS. All these equipments are squeeze inside the small room.

Yesterday, I heard a noisy sound (like aeroplan engin sound) came out from the server room. I thought something wrong with the servers. So I quickly go into the server room and check. Oh God! the room was like an oven, the heat can make you feel sick. The air-cond was blow out hot air, not cool air. Luckily it is not a server problem.

I feel pity with the air-cond. It has to work 24 hours x 365 days, non stop. :P

Yesterday I'm facing problem when want to generate XL reporter report. An error message pop up.

"Security setting in Microsoft Excel prohibit XL reporter for running"

This error happens when the Macro Security settings in Excel are configured as High or Very High.

Here is the solution from SAP note:

In Microsoft Excel 2003, go to Tools->Options and select Security Tab.

Then select Macro Security to open the Macro security box. In the Security Level select Medium.

Beside, in the Trusted Publishers tab select the 2 option:

-Trust access to Visual Basic Projects
-Trust all installed add-ins and templates

Finally click OK button.

After fixing this problem, then I get another error.

"A required COM add-in program for XL Reporter has not been loaded and prohibits Microsoft Excel from running”

Solution from SAP note:
You need to be an administrator on the local machine to add COM add-ins.
1. Start Microsoft Excel. If you already have the COM Add-ins command on the Tools menu, go to step 7.
2. In the Tools menu, choose Customize. This opens the Customize window.
3. Choose the Commands tab and select Tools from the Categories pane on the left.
4. In the Command pane on the right, scroll down to the COM Add-ins command.
5. Select the COM Add-ins command, hold down the mouse button, and drag COM Add-ins from the Commands pane over to the Tools menu on the Microsoft Excel men bar. When the Tools menu commands appear, point to where you want the COM Add-ins command to appear on the menu and release the mouse button.
6. To close the Customize window, choose Close.
7. On the Tools menu, choose the new COM Add-ins option. This opens the COM Add-ins window.
8. In the window, choose Add to open the Add Add-in window.
9.Select the IXXLReporter.dll file located in the Client directory in the XL Reporter program installation area and choose OK.
10. In the COM Add-ins window, select the XL Reporter checkbox and choose OK.
